Dowsing

Dowsing is an ancient technique that works on the principle that it is possible to tune in to particular vibrational frequencies associated with all forms of matter. When a particular frequency has been located the body reacts. The swing of the pendulum amplifies the body's subtle muscle movements. With practise, most people can use a pendulum to get a yes/no answer and can dowse accurately to choose the essences they need. Try it yourself!

contact

The pendulum should be held in such a way that you feel comfortable and relaxed. The arm should be bent at the elbow. There should be no tension in your arm, shoulder or wrist. The cord should be held between the thumb and forefinger (as shown). The thumb and forefinger should form a circle, the other fingers should fan out facing the ground. If this feels uncomfortable for you, experiment holding the pendulum in other ways. Keep the cord fairly short so changes in the rotation can be seen relatively quickly.
Focus on the here and now. Empty your mind of any thoughts. Set the pendulum in motion on a straight line swing – you will find the pendulum swings freely.

Your ‘Yes’ response
Without looking at the pendulum ask to be shown a ‘Yes’ response. Observe the swing. A ‘Yes’ response is frequently a clockwise circle or ellipse. To find your personal ‘Yes’ response pose yourself a series of questions to which there is one clear answer, e.g. Are my eyes blue? Am I wearing trainers?

Your ‘No’ response
The ‘No’ response is generally a mirror image of the ‘Yes’ response e.g. an anti-clockwise circle or ellipse, however your own pendulum’s ‘No’ may be entirely different. Yes/No responses are very individual- some circular, some elliptical, some directional straight lines. It does take a little practise.

Asking the right questions
Try to be specific. Ask closed questions where you can expect a yes or no answer. Try to exclude any ambiguities, or asking more than one question at a time. Use ‘Should I /can I /will I?’- type questions.
